Assembly Required: Connecting the Empty Tomb to a Living Church - Part 8

Home teams score more, make fewer mistakes, and win more often, and one franchise thought so much of its crowd that it retired the number twelve. If eighty thousand voices can tilt a game, what could a room like this do for someone running out of air?

In this eighth message, we turn to Hebrews 10:24-25, where the verse we quote about not forsaking the assembly is preceded by the reason for it, β€œto stir up one another to love and good works.” It was written to people who were thinking about drifting, not to people already drowning.

Encouragement is content, not just tone, and a nice word about a haircut will not carry anyone through a hard week. Show up, look for who is sitting alone or missing, say the thing instead of intending to say it, and be honest enough to ask when you are the one running low.
